Dr. Norman J. Shepherd graduated from Holy Cross College,
Tufts Dental School, and did his oral and maxillofacial surgical residency at
Boston City Hospital. He joined the faculty of Tufts Dental School in 1967 and
is a full Clinical Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Replacing lost
bone and teeth has always been a special interest of Dr. Shepherd. In 1985 he
co-founded the Tufts Dental Implant Center. He also has been the surgical
director of the Implant Dentistry Centre at Faulkner Hospital. One of the first
Fellows of the American Academy of Osseointegration, Dr. Shepherd has placed
more dental implants than anyone in the United States. He has lectured
extensively and performed surgery throughout the United States and in 22
countries. |

Dr. William Gilmore is a board-certified oral and
maxillofacial surgeon, who graduated from Boston College University, Tufts
Dental School, and did his oral and maxillofacial surgical residency at Boston
City Hospital. He immediately joined the faculty at Tufts University and in
1984 he became Professor and Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the
Jamaica Plain Veterans Administration Hospital. Bill is a co-developer of the
Tufts Dental Implant Center with Dr. Shepherd, and has had extensive experience
in implant surgery. He joined NEOSA in 1987, but continues to teach oral
surgery residents at the VA Hospital in major facial bone and implant
reconstruction.
Dr. Alvin Yadgood graduated from Northeastern
University, Georgetown Dental School, and spent his oral and maxillofacial
surgical residence at Lincoln Medical Center in New York City. He, like Drs.
Gilmore and Shepherd, is fully board-certified, and he has had extensive
experience in maxillofacial reconstruction, temporomandibular joint surgery,
and dental implant surgery. He joined NEOSA in 1988, and together with Drs.
Gilmore and Shepherd makes up the most experienced implant surgical team in New
England. |
